Midlands Truck & Van launches night-time MoTs
The company had already introduced a night-time MoT testing service at its dealership in Whitley, Coventry. And starting this week (1st October), this has been extended to cover its headquarters in Aston, Birmingham, and its Willenhall, Wolverhampton branch. The move means customers will no longer have to take their commercial vehicles off the road to get them tested during the day, when they could be out earning.
Nor will operators face the hassle of transferring tools and other equipment from their own van to an alternative vehicle, or have to contend with the insurance headaches and additional expense that this entails. Instead, they need only drop their vehicle off with the dealer at the end of the day, then return to collect it, fully tested and ready for work again, the next morning.
For added convenience, Midlands Truck & Van can also undertake routine servicing procedures and repairs during the same pit stop. Explained After Sales Director David Stewart: “We’re commercial vehicle specialists at Midlands Truck & Van, so we understand that when a vehicle is off the road during business hours it’s actually costing its owner money.
“The launch of our new night-time MoT service underlines once again, our commitment to providing customers with a service that is responsive, flexible and cost-effective.”
Midlands Truck & Van offers MoT testing on vehicles of all marques in the Class 4 (cars, vans and small minibuses up to 3.0 tonnes gross weight), Class 5 (buses with up to 15 passenger seats, as well as ambulances), and 7 (vans up to 3.5 tonnes gross weight) categories. The company has invested in additional staff training and development in order to offer its extended MoT service.
Formed in April 2011 following the acquisition of the former franchisee by privately-owned Ballyvesey Holdings, Midlands Truck & Van sells and supports the award-winning range of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles, as well as popular Fuso Canter light trucks.
The workshops at all three of its sites are open round-the-clock, from 7am on Monday mornings until Saturday lunchtimes; the dealer also provides Service 24h roadside rescue and recovery back-up, 365 days a year.
Meanwhile, Midlands Truck & Van is seeking to recruit up to six qualified technicians as well as parts and after sales administration staff to work across its three locations and help it meet increasing demand for its services.
And as a company which is committed to ‘growing its own’, it has also recently recruited three apprentice technicians. “We have appointed enthusiastic and motivated young people with an interest in our industry and a desire to build a rewarding career with Mercedes-Benz, and provide our customers with service excellence,” said David.
